January 2010
Check out out our new video on You Tube, done by a well cool Company called The Film Tank.
The New Year as started off busy with us being invited to a Wassailing evening at West Croft Farm,Brent Knoll, on Sat 16th Jan. We had a wicked evening with Morris Dancing, Belly Dancers, andThe Fallen Apples . The party goers had a great time, and joined in with our raps when we headlined at the end of the evening. Hog roast and cider had put them in a real party mood, and THE SHED went down a storm.
Monday 23rd Jan we visited Weston Super Mare General Hospital on Sunshine Radio 7pm - 8pm to chat and spit some raps. We had a wicked time, and were met at the entrance and escorted to the studio, in case we frightened the patients. The presenter had also written a rap about sunshine radio, and we now have an honorary Wrinkly Rapper (well she will be in a few years !!)
It is wicked that we got through to the finals of Lakeside Caravan Park Talent Competition on Sat 30th Jan. We had a great time and met a lot of well cool acts. Thanks to all our homies come along to support us, though in spite of this we did not win, but what an experience and the proceeds are to go to St Margarets Hospice and well worthwhile cause to support.
December 2009
December has been a busy time for us with the release of the "Wrinkly Rappers Unrapped". We have had press interviews with the local papers, Burnham On Sea.com and joined BBC Radio Somerset on their bus on Burnham Sea Front when they played raps from the album. Star Radio invited us to visit them and we have done radio interviews for BBC Radio Cambridge and BBC Radio Kent.
We had a wicked time at The Pier Tavern in Burnham On Sea promoting our album, and spit raps at Asda in Highbridge, and The Book Shop in Bridgwater, to the amusement of Christmas shoppers. We delighted residents at a local Residential Home with our rap called "Do You Remember When?"
The coolest thing was on 22nd December when Alan Carr Chatty Man mentioned us on his show. He was not very kind to us, but wow, it was wicked that he even knew who we were !!! Maybe he will have us on this show in the new year.
We have had such a wicked year and look forward to 2010 being an even better one.
Happy New Year Everyone !!!!!
November 2009
We are well excited and working hard to get an album finished in time for Christmas. The music for the Christmas Rap called Unrapped At Christmas is being almost finished and the album cover is being designed by a great guy in London. We are learning some well cool moves to go with the new raps. Proceeds from the album will go to help support Alzheimer's Research Trust, a really well worthwhile charity.
With Christmas coming and parties being booked, November and December are going to be busy times for us. We already have several booking and are looking forward to spitting our new raps for you guys.
SUMMER EVENTS 2009
It has been a well cool summer and we have had lots of gigs. Thanks to all you guys who came along to support us and the charities that we were supporting.
We have been invited to perform at a Fashion - Entertainment Show at Brean Leisure Centre on 15th July 2009 to help raise funds for the RNLI.
We went to Burnham Lifeboat Station to meet the crew. They were all very friendly and happy to dish the dirt on their collegues so that I could write a personal rap about them.We will be performing this at the show, and are looking forward to seeing their reaction!!!! We hope they remember that the information came from their so called mates!
On Friday 17th July 2009, we are joining other performers at The Highbridge Childrens Centre to celebrate their 5th birthday. I was made very welcome when I went to the centre to meet the children and teachers, to gather information to write a personal rap for them. We look forward to the children joining us with a cool chorus and some wicked moves !
Look for us on www.ukonlinecentres.com !!!! We had our photos taken to encourage older guys to learn how to use computers. If Wrinkly Rappers can use them, anyone can.
We are having a cool time appearing at charity events, and the highlight must be our invitation to The Celtic Blue Rock Festival on 31st July - 2nd Aug. If you would like to know more about the festival their web site is www.celticbluerock.org/ It is a really good event to support with lots of bands for all tastes.
We appeared at a charity event at the Sue Ryder Care shop in Burnham on Sunday 1st March . We did our Wrinkly Rap, and Grumpy Old Men Rap, which was inspired by listening to the ladies talking about their men ! We also did a Rap that the children will joined in with, rapping the chorus and doing a few cool moves. It is called the Whipper Snapper Rapper, and is about how cool school is, and about respecting the teachers.
Thank you to all of you who came along to support the charity. Over the course of the week they raised £173, so thank you all for your generosity.
Burnham On Sea.com filmed us and have now put it on u tube, so if you missed the performance you can see it on there.
